Once you’ve got your “Avengers” assembled, head across the street to the base area of Peak 9 and hop the Quicksilver Chair. (Pro tip: Peak 9 is the least crowded, and has runs and terrain parks for all levels.) Conquer as many trails as you can handle, then head back for a soak in the two seven-person hot tubs – or opt for the huge heated Pioneer Club Pool and your pick of six more hot tubs at the neighboring Main Street Station. Junction guests have access to all Main Street Station amenities, from the concierge, ski valet and storage, to the fitness center and eucalyptus steam room. There’s even a 25-person theater you can reserve for a special movie night for your crew. If you’re headed out, get door-to-door service with the on-demand shuttle – the driver’s happy to take you anywhere in Breck.
When you’re ready to wrap up the ski day, cruise down an easy green like Lower American, Lower Lehman or Silverthorne get back to your condo. Wait at the base to count noses and make sure everyone made it down okay, then take a vote on the après ski snacks you have stashed in the cabinets and fridge. The beautifully furnished one- to three-bedroom vacation residences each have a private bathroom for every bedroom, plus nine foot ceilings, DVD players and a private balcony or patio. The gourmet kitchens are gorgeous enough to inspire even the non-culinarily inclined, with all the right appliances, plus slate floors and custom cabinetry. Wrap up dinner then unwind in the living area, where the fireplace is at the heart, with natural moss-rock surround, Colorado sandstone hearth and rustic timber mantle. Whisper advice to the younger of the two chess players at the dining table, while you set up the Ticket to Ride pieces and see if you can round up any takers.
Some local brew sampling may be in order – hit up the townies for insider tips on the best of the best. Stroll the charming downtown, stopping here and there to browse through souvenir t-shirts, hats and mugs, or consider upgrading your ski gear.
