South End

Back to South End destination page

The southernmost section of the island is home to Hilton Head's buzzing social center.

Harbour Town on Calibogue Sound offers up souvenir shopping, dining on fresh seafood, and dancing to live music after dark. You may not have a yacht at the marina here, but that doesn't mean you can't channel your inner sailor — this is the place to explore the area's waterways. Rent a sailboat, kayak, or wave runner, hop on board a dolphin cruise, or see the area from the skies on a parasailing adventure.

But before you make waves, check out Hilton Head's signature landmark, the red-and-white Harbour Town Lighthouse, where learning about the island's maritime history is just as fun as climbing to the top for amazing views of the Sound.

Spring
Alligator Tours by H20 Sports

Summer
Fourth of July Fireworks

Hilton Head celebrates the Fourth of July with fireworks around the island. But the best show is over Calibogue Sound, with perfect views from Harbour Town. Afterwards, grab a burger and some ice cream and listen to live music.

Fall
