Stop by your condo to drop off your luggage and get changed into swimsuits. Spray everyone head-to-toe in sunblock, grab goggles and get ready to hit the sparkling outdoor pool. Hop back and forth from beach to pool as often as you like, heading back up to your condo in between to refill snacks and sippy cups. When the kids get hungry, head next door to Crabby Joe’s Deck & Grill. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Crabby Joe’s Calypso Bar offers a daily Happy Hour from four to seven in the evening.

One-bedroom condos sleep four to five guests and have oceanfront or river views. The cheery interior is done up in a sunny, Van Gogh-like palette that feels just right, given the beachfront location, and full kitchens have what you need for low-key meals in. Assemble your famous lasagna and let your little helpers assist (someone has to make sure that there’s enough cheese). When the lasagna is in the oven, catch a sitcom rerun on the Cable TV. Don’t worry if the little ones end up with more lasagna on their clothes than in their mouths; there are on-site laundry facilities at the resort. Still craving more together-time with the ocean? Beach Quarters Resort Daytona is just next door to The Sunglow Fishing Pier if your crew’s up for some fishing (May the best caster win). The pier features a bait shack, an area for cleaning any fish that you’ve caught, fishing pole rentals and frozen bait. Visit Florida’s tallest lighthouse, Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse. It was first lit on November 1, 1887, and is visited by one-hundred and seventy-thousand people each year. It was designated a National Monument in 1998. Daytona Lagoon Waterpark is a family-friendly waterpark. Little ones under fifty-four inches tall will have a blast at Castaway Bay (parents may join their kids). Kids under forty-two inches tall must wear a life jacket to ride Treasure Lagoon, Poseidon’s Pass and Pelican’s Drift. Kraken’s Conquest, Blackbeard’s Revenge and Adventure Mountain have a height requirement of forty-two inches tall. Other attractions at Daytona Lagoon Waterpark include an 18-hole Mini Golf course. Guests who are at least forty-two inches tall can play Laser Tag while guests at least thirty-six inches tall can play on the Rock Wall. Bring the kids along for a fun ride on the single and double go-karts (the driver must be at least fifty-four inches tall and have a driver’s license, passengers must be at least thirty-six inches tall.
